Randburg is a city located in the north-western parts of Johannesburg, Gauteng. Formerly a separate municipality, its administration transferred to the newly created City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, along with neighbouring Sandton and Roodepoort, in the late 1990s. Randburg is accessible from major arterials including Bram Fischer Drive, Republic Avenue, Bond Avenue and Jan Smuts Avenue, the longest of these routes connecting Randburg to the Johannesburg CDB. The municipal area of Randburg contains numerous residential suburbs including Blairgowrie, Ferndale, Kensington B, Darrenwood, Cresta, Aldara Park, Olivedale, Randpark Ridge, Boskruin and Fairlands.
