The city of Pretoria is found in the northern part of the Gauteng Province. Today the area has been renamed the City of Tshwane, but the CBD still keeps the name of Pretoria. It is one of the country's three capital cities, serving as the executive administrative capital and houses the Union Buildings, the official seat of the South African government. Pretoria, also known as the Jacaranda City, can be divided into three sections: West, East and North, relative to the CBD. Pretoria is contained within the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality with popular towns including Centurion, Akasia, Soshanguve, Mabopane, Atteridgeville, Ga-Rankuwa, Winterveld, Hammanskraal, Temba, Pienaarsrivier, Crocodile River and Mamelodi.
