Situated on the West Coast, Saldanha Bay is one of the biggest seaports in South Africa, exporting iron ore mined in the Kimberley region of the Western Cape. The town’s name originally applied to the present Table Bay, where a Portuguese Admiral named Antonio de Saldanha anchored his fleet in 1503. Joris van Spilbergen applied the name to the current Saldanha Bay due to a navigational error. Today, there are a number of houses and homes for sale in Saldana, offering the seaside and a bustling harbour lifestyle.
