Hopefield
Founded on the banks of the Zoute River in 1853, Hopefield is located in the Swartland region of the Western Cape. It was originally developed as a church community and named after two men who carried out a town survey. Primarily an agricultural community, Hopefield has a number of farms and smallholdings for sale in the outlying areas, as well as a variety of houses and homes for sale in the town itself.
Situated in the heart of fynbos country, Hopefield is home to a wonderful display of wild flowers during the winter months. 13km south west of the small town in the Swartland is the farm of Elandsfontein, which is known for its unique fossil deposits, examples of which can also be seen at the local Tourism Bureau. Those who buy property in Hopefield are bound to enjoy the rural atmosphere and general peace and quiet.
Hopefield is also home to a replica of an original reed house or hart
