Sometimes described as the “heartbeat of the West Coast”, Darling is a little village located in the Swartland region of the Western Cape. In season, the area is covered with wheat fields and wild flowers, making it a popular destination with both visitors and locals alike. The various houses and homes for sale have been lovingly restored to the original Victorian style, making it one of the most beautiful historic villages along the Cape coastal interior. It is also home to the wildly eccentric and popular, Pieter Dirk Uys (Evita Bezuidenhout).
Named after Charles Henry Darling, who was Governor of the Cape at the time, the town is ideally situated 75km from Cape Town and just 23km away from the sea at Yzerfontein.
