Betty’s Bay
Found along the coast in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, Bettys Bay is a small seaside village that caters mainly for retired residents and those who prefer to buy holiday homes away from the more commercialized areas. The fact that this region is popular for whale watching means that Betty’s Bay also caters for the tourist sector and there are a variety of activities to keep the locals and visitors busy. There are a range of houses and homes for sale, as well as vacant land and stands available in the area.
Home to the rare Jackass Penguin colony situated at Stoney Point, Bettys Bay also has a nursery, the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens and an Old Whaling Station. The Kogelberg biosphere found here is often referred to as the literal “heart of the fynbos kingdom”. There are over 1600 plant species to be found in the reserve, as well as a selection of hiking trails for the more active locals
