Marloth Park
Marloth Park is located on the banks of the Crocodile River in South Africa’s Northern Province on the southern border of the world famous Kruger National Park. Something unique here is the fact that residents are not allowed to put fences up around their properties. This means that the animals roam freely around the houses and streets in town, sometimes creating quite a stir.
Lions have been sighted near Marloth Park on occasion and elephants frequent the banks of the Crocodile River, which is also home to hippo and crocodiles. It is also not unusual to see a variety of buck species and antelope in the area, as well as the chance that buffalo, giraffe, warthog or baboons will be roaming nearby. What could be more rewarding than living so close to nature?
The majority of houses in Marloth Park are privately owned, but there are also a few self-catering units, lodges and bed and breakfasts catering for the holiday market. There are just two stores in town, The Trading Post and The Bush Centre, which cater for most of the essentials. This part of the Limpopo is without a doubt one of the most enriching in terms of wildlife and natural landscape, so it makes perfect sense that nature lovers would buy property in Marloth Park.
