Part of the Midlands area in Kwazulu Natal, Greytown is situated on the Mvoti River and was established in 1854. Its main claim to fame is that it is the birthplace of General Louis Botha, the first prime minister of the Union of South Africa. Greytown is primarily an agricultural area, with vast expanses of timber plantations to be found on the way to Dundee.
