Upper Highway
Upper Highway forms part of the greater Durban area in KwaZulu Natal and consists of a number of suburbs, namely Kloof and Forest Hills, Gillits and Winston Park, Hillcrest and Everton, as well as Botha’s Hill and Alverstone, amongst others. In recent years, property development has literally taken off and there has been plenty of growth in the residential and commercial sectors.
The Upper Highway area is privy to some of the most temperate climate South Africa has to offer, particularly due to its position above sea level. In fact, residents are bound to enjoy the relatively cool weather, which is in stark contrast to the often hot and humid climate Durban is notorious for. The soil is extremely fertile and this is evident in the lush, leafy vegetation that makes the area a true gardener’s delight.
Upper Highway is home to some of the top private schools in the country and the area is quite popular with Afrikaans families due to its proximity to one of the few Afrikaans medium schools in Durban. There are also numerous sporting facilities to take advantage of, whether you are interested in hiking, golfing, playing tennis or any other physical entertainment. The area’s interesting mix of country and urban lifestyle makes it a popular location for property investment in South Africa.
