Found in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, Vereeniging makes up part of the Vaal Triangle and is an important industrial centre in the country. The name Vereeniging means “association” or “union” in Afrikaans and the town was founded in 1892. With a population of 350 000, the town is situated on the northern banks of the Vaal River loop. The various properties for sale here are mostly commercial and industrial premises, but there are also residential houses and homes for sale in Vereeniging’s outlying suburbs.
Vereeniging has coal reserves that are estimated 4 billion tons and there are substantial deposits of fire clay, while silica and building stone are also mined in the area.
