Vanderbijlpark
A town found in southern Gauteng, Vanderbijlpark is located near the Vaal River and is an industrial centre of South Africa. Its main claim to fame is that it is home to Vanderbijlpark Steel, previously part of ISCOR and now part of the multi-billion dollar global company, Mittal. Together with Vereeniging and Sasolburg, Vanderbijlpark forms the Vaal Triangle, which is considered of prime importance in terms of the South African industrial sector. The area has a diverse selection of commercial and industrial property for sale, including shops, offices and factories to buy.
The town was named after Dr H.J. van der Bijl who was a brilliant scientist working in the United States and employed by then Prime Minister Jan Smuts to advise the South African government on planning its industrial development in 1920. He oversaw the establishment of the first iron and steel plant in Pretoria
