A small farming town on the border of Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces, Bronkhorstspruit is located just 50km east of Pretoria along the N4 highway towards Witbank. Originally established as a railway station in 1894, it was recognized as a town in 1905 and named after the Bronkhorst family who lived in the area. Primarily focused on agriculture, Bronkhorstspruit has a number of farms and smallholdings for sale in the area, as well as various residential houses and homes to buy.
Bronkhorstspruit’s main claim to fame is that one of its suburbs, Cultura Park houses the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. The Nan Hua Temple is the South African headquarters of the Humanistic Buddhist order, Fo Guang Shan and the members do a lot of work for the community.
