Kempton Park
Found in Gauteng, Kempton Park owes its growth to the discovery of gold and the establishment of a railway line, linking the Transvaal gold fields to the East Coast. The line would serve as a link between Pretoria, Johannesburg and the Vaal River and cut straight through the middle of the farm Zuurfontein, where Kempton Park would soon develop. One of the stations soon became home to a gathering of local farmers collecting supplies. Kempton Park is home to a number of residential houses and apartments for sale, as well as various farms and smallholding properties to buy in the outlying areas.
Another major development in Kempton Park was the dynamite factory built at Modderfontein. The factory was laid out on 2400 hectares of highveld land teeming with game and wildlife and the development called for the migration of many skilled European workers to South Africa
