A city found in Gauteng’s East Rand, Boksburg is a diversified industrial and mining centre of South Africa. Established in 1887 as the administrative centre of the East Rand due to the discovery of gold here, Boksburg has become one of the most important gold producing towns in the Witwatersrand. The industry in place here has ensured that a number of residential areas have sprung up to cater for the various miners and other service providers and there is a variety of houses and homes, apartments and flats for sale in Boksburg.
Boksburg developed gradually at first, but after the Second World War the area expanded at a rapid pace, particularly with the provision of electricity in the industrial areas.
