Fouriesburg surrounded by the Maluti Mountains and the Witteberge is the Gateway to Lesotho. It boasts the largest sandstone overhang in the southern hemisphere called Saltpeterkrans. This cave is still used for ancestral worship by local tribes.It has a variety of hiking trails, including the longest trail in the Free State (5 days). It has numerous activities, including horse-riding, 4x4 trails, fishing and much more. Some of the most famous sites of the Anglo Boer War - Surrender Hill - where 4 000 Boers surrendered, is also in the area.
