Approximately 125km east of Port Elizabeth on the scenic Sunshine Coast lies the traditional holiday resort of Boesmansriviermond. As the name suggests, it is set on the western bank at the mouth of the Bushmans River with the holiday resort of Kenton-on Sea situated just across from Boesmansriviermond, on the opposite side of the river mouth.

The resort dates back to the 1897 when farmers from the nearby towns were granted permission to camp along the banks of the river during the holiday seasons. Back then no facilities existed and holiday goers would enjoy the scenic surroundings and peaceful atmosphere of this magical place with the hardly any luxuries. Development was kept to a minimum even after private land ownership was accepted in the 1900’s, to such an extent that running water and electricity only reached Boesmansriviermond in the early 1980’s. Even to the day, the village only has a small grocery shop and post office with medical services and other amenities around 10-15 minutes drive from Boesmansriviermond.

Property in Boesmansrivermond consists mainly of holiday homes that act as the perfect sanctuaries for those wishing to escape the city.

The area is safe and secure and offers miles and miles of unspoilt beaches as well as excellent fishing and whale watching opportunities. There is really not much standing in the way of this truly amazing destination being the perfect holiday destination.
