Alexandria
Found on the Sunshine Coast in the Eastern Cape, Alexandria is believed to have been established by the Dutch colonial government in the late 18th century and named after Reverend Alexander Smith in 1856. Primarily a farming area, the property for sale in Alexandria includes smallholdings and farms, as well as residential houses and homes to buy in the town itself.
Located 100kms northeast of Port Elizabeth and on the route to Bushman’s River Mouth, Kenton on Sea and Port Alfred, the area is known to be the most important chicory producing district in South Africa. Other agricultural produce includes pineapples and dairy farming also occurs here. Those who buy property in Alexandria are primarily farmers who are interested in commercial farms for sale, but there are also others who want a house or home for sale that offers a country lifestyle.
