Middleburg

Founded in 1852, Middleburg is a town in the Eastern Cape situated on the banks of the Brak River and named for its central position to the surrounding towns of Cradock, Colesburg and Richmond. Although part of the arid Central Karoo, the area is surprisingly fertile as a result of its abundant supply of underground water.
