The West Coast is a region that stretches over 400kms in total from north to south, with a surprising diverse and natural beauty.  The coastal area is home to a magnificent lagoon in the ever popular and expanding Langebaan, with Yzerfontein boasting some of the most stunning, relatively untouched coastline in the Western Cape.  Saldanha Bay is a wonderful fishing village, with Velddrif and Lamberts Bay located a little further up the coast.

The interior houses a variety of agricultural concerns, mostly involving grain, wine and citrus estates.  The Swartland and Sandveld are renowned for their production of grain and wine, while the Olifantsrivier Valley is famous for Rooibos and its excellent citrus and wine.  Other activities in the region include whale watching between July and December, as well as bird watching and fishing off the coast. 

Framed by the Groot Winterhoek Mountain range, the Cederberg promises some of the most magnificent scenery the Western Cape has to offer.  While this region is situated in a lush and fertile valley, the Namaqualand and Knersvlakte are comparatively dry, but offer an arid beauty of their own that comes to life during the rains, with wildflowers forming a riot of colour. St Helena Bay, Paternoster and Melkbosstrand are three popular holiday destinations on the West Coast.
