Sunshine Coast Property | Eastern Cape

The Sunshine Coast forms part of South Africa’s Eastern Cape region and is the coastal route between St Francis Bay and East London.  The area comprises of more than a million hectares of malaria free game reserve, which attracts hordes of international visitors looking for a taste of the African wild.  There is no doubt that this stretch of coastline lives up to its name and there are a wealth of pristine sandy beaches to take advantage of the endless sunshine.

Port Elizabeth makes up the western point of the Sunshine Coast and offers a variety of leisure options, from watersports and lazy days on the beach to a vibrant nightlife packed with the best in cosmopolitan entertainment.  The city is often utilized as a base point from which tourists explore the surrounding area and local residents have the opportunity to venture out on day trips or for weekend getaways nearby.

South Africa’s only river port city is East London, which is located on the Buffalo River and forms one of the most attractive stretches of landscape on the Sunshine Coast in the Eastern Cape.  Bathurst is situated on the border with frontier country and is about a half hour’s drive from Grahamstown and a mere 10 minutes from Port Alfred.  The region is known for its fabulous beaches and magnificent ocean views and sedate seaside lifestyle.  Also here is Cape St Francis, a seaside resort that takes its name from the patron saint of sailors and houses the famous Seal Point Lighthouse, which was built in 1873 and the interesting town of Boesmansriviermond.

Perhaps the most famous place on the Sunshine Coast is Jeffreys Bay, which is frequented by surfing enthusiasts and holidaymakers from all over the world.  A village that remains relatively untouched by time and human consumerism is Kenton on Sea, which is situated where two rivers meet and run into the warm Indian Ocean.  Kleinemonde and Cannon Rocks are renowned for their emphasis on nature and long stretches of sandy white beach, offering the ultimate in isolated seaside charm.  With such a multitude of beautiful coastal towns and villages to be found along this route in the Eastern Cape, it’s no wonder that property on the Sunshine Coast is in such high demand.
