Salt Rock’s proximity to the more commercialized area of Ballito means that residents and visitors have the opportunity to venture beyond its borders in search of more exciting entertainment if need be.  The nearby area on the Dolphin Coast is home to a variety of restaurants, shopping centres and several golf courses.  There is an interesting sand bank just near the main beach that offers a glassy left and right peak that breaks on both rock and sand, which is best in the early hours of the day.
