Port Elizabeth Property | Eastern Cape

Port Elizabeth is the largest coastal town in South Africa’s Eastern Cape region and is located about 260km from Knysna and 800km from the Mother City.  The city is known for its abundant sunshine and safe sandy beaches, but also for its wind, earning it the name ‘Windy City’.  The area is a major seaport and tourist destination, set along the stunning shores of Algoa Bay.

When it comes to size, Port Elizabeth is the second biggest in the country, with the fifth largest population.  It is also an important centre for the motor industry and has earned a reputation worldwide.  The Coega Project is a new harbour development currently underway here and promises to provide thousands of jobs, as well as bring renewed investment into the region.

Port Elizabeth or PE is home to a number of historical attractions, like the Donkin Heritage Trail, which allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of the 1820 settlers on their pioneer journey of discovery.  Nature lovers will enjoy the beautiful parks and landscaped gardens in the area, such as that in St Georges Park and Settlers Park.  Just 73km outside the city is the exclusive Shamwari Game Reserve, which boasts the Big Five and there is the Addo Elephant Park dedicated to preserving the Eastern Cape elephant and buffalo.  With such a wealth of history and scenic beauty, it’s no wonder that property in Port Elizabeth is so popular.
