Gordons Bay Property | Cape Peninsula

Gordons Bay is part of the Helderberg region of the Cape Peninsula and while the suburb itself lies against a sheer mountain backdrop, it shelters a picturesque cove that offers a wonderful feast of water-based activity.  The area is all about its waterfront, which has a promenade lined with fish shops, coffee bars and restaurants to relax wiling away the hours.  Bikini Beach is a popular seaside destination that literally hums during the holiday season, with locals and holidaymakers playing volleyball, sunbathing or surfing.

The water is a lot gentler on the main beach at Gordons Bay and this makes it more popular with families.  But you don’t have to be a fan of the beach to enjoy this part of the Cape Peninsula, as the Helderberg Wine Route includes some 25 wineries and estates that range from a 300 year old historic manor to the cellars of Vergelegen, Scholtzenhof, Morgenster and Post House to name but a few.

Whale watching is another popular activity in Gordon's Bay, which is most often achieved on a drive down Clarence Drive, the scenic coastal road between here and Bettys Bay.  Along this route you will find some of the best designated whale watching spots along the coast.  The Steenbras Dam has some incredible views over the suburb and surrounding area and is the ideal spot for a picnic with the family.  The fact that Cape Town is just 40 minutes away makes property investment in Gordons Bay a more than viable option.
