Clarens is a quaint village situated in the Free State that houses a host of art galleries, craft shops and restaurants to explore.  It has developed into an artist’s haven, which is likely due to the stunning golden light cast by the sun on the cliffs of the Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

Even the ancient inhabitants of the Clarens area were inspired artistically, with a variety of Bushmen paintings to be found in the surrounding sandstone cliffs.  This part of the Freestate is known for its outdoor activities as well, with the opportunity to play golf, go horse riding or river rafting.
